There’s never been a better time to get outdoors and discover Campbelltown’s beautiful Dharawal National Park, with the popular Guided Indigenous Tours happening again in 2018.

Guided Indigenous tours are held on the second Saturday of every month between February and November. The tours are led by an Aboriginal Discovery Ranger and provide a wonderful look at the beautiful Australian landscape from a Koori perspective.

New to this years tour offering is the Summer Series Sensory Walks at Dharawal, held on the third Saturday in December and January. Join one of the passionate Dharawal National Park rangers and experience the park with all five of your senses.

Dharawal National Park is a great destination for a day in the great outdoors, with walking and bike tracks, waterfalls and rock pools, and the chance to spot native flora and fauna.

The tours are 1.5 hours in duration and tickets are $10 per person. Bookings are essential and places are strictly limited. Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, and bring a bottle of water.

Dharawal Guided Indigenous Walks

Dates: Tours are available the second Saturday of every month, between February and November.

Discover the Dharawal National Park and learn about Indigenous heritage on this guided walking tour. Enjoy a wander with an Aboriginal Discovery Ranger, as you take a fresh look at the landscape from a Koori perspective.

The Indigenous Tours take one of two popular tracks at Dharawal National Park.

The 9am walk traverses the O'Hares Creek Lookout track which is a grade 1 walk, 2.8km return. This is an inclusive walk and guests of all abilities and ages are welcome, including guests in prams, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The bulk of the walk surface is a sealed pebble road with small sections of concrete path and metal mesh grates (at the lookout).

The 11.30am walk takes the more challenging trail to Minerva Pool. This track is a grade 3 track and unsuitable for guests with additional mobility requirements.

This tour will be available on the second Saturday of each month from February to November during 2018.

Meeting point:
Please meet your guide at the entrance to the Dharawal National Park, at the end of Victoria Road, Wedderburn. Please make your own way to the National Park and schedule yourself to arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time.

• Participants are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, and to bring a bottle   of water with them on the day.

Autumn Series Sensory Walks at Dharawal National Park

Date: 14, 21 and 28 April 2018

Time: 3pm - 4.30pm

Smell, Taste, Hear, Touch and See Dharawal National Park on this brand new sensory experience. A Dharawal National Park Ranger will help you explore the park with all five of your senses.

Taste bush foods, touch and smell the diverse native vegetation and hear the sounds of the bush on this inclusive walk suitable for everyone.

Cost: $10 per person. Kids under three free.

Meeting point:
Please meet your guide at the entrance to Dharawal National Park, at the end of Victoria Road, Wedderburn. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time.

This is an easy grade walk which takes the O’Hares Lookout Track which has a very mild gradient.
